PHOTO PROMPT © What’s His Name
Face Time
‘Dinner will be ready soon. I’m getting in the shower.’
There was no response, just the muffled arguments of the boys in the living room. Those iPads were a blessing sometimes, Petra had to admit. There aren’t enough hours in the day to get it all done, and she was sure every mother called on the technology babysitter occasionally.
The hot water blasted her body and relaxed her muscles. A sigh of pleasure escaped.
The shower curtain was suddenly whipped back. Petra shrieked as she looked straight into her mother-in-law’s smiling eyes.
‘Grandma face-timed,’ little Billy said.

Eek! My two-year-old granddaughter doesn’t see any reason why she shouldn’t “help” me “go potty,” but fortunately my eight-year-old grandson now knows better.
My five-year-old has no bathroom boundaries 🤣
Haahahaaa.
A most lovely read.
Thanks! 😊
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha…. Brilliant!! 😃
Thanks Anna! I was hoping it’d get a laugh 😊
Yep! Gotta love those kids… Been there, done that!
Always nice to catch up with the family, don’t you think? Good one.
I had a great grandmother like that. When she was in the house, everyone locked the bathroom door.
Ha!
Loved it! Thought it had tones of horror, but I liked it anyway 🙂

I will write mine this afternoon. Hope you will read.
I do enjoy writing horror so maybe I subconsciously influenced the tone 😊 I’m going to be reading everyone’s over the next few nights 😊
Sounds good…I have written a collection of shorts, on Kindle called “Keeping Watch and Ten Other Tales of Terror”. I also have several of my horror stories on my blog under short stories.
Ooh, I’ll have a look, thanks
Also, link is on my blog site – on left a ways down.

Haha, a modern way to get caught out, how embarrassing!
Loved this story. I guess grandma got an eyeful.
Haha, oh children. That was too funny. I could almost hear the rings holding up the shower curtain clanking to the side.
Thanks Melissa
Hilarious! What a cute take on the prompt.
Thank you
There is no place sacred when a child has an iPad and no idea of boundaries. I remember the no boundaries from my girls, but thank goodness it didn’t come with an iPad.
These are dangerous times 😂
Ha ha ha ha ha. When we were young, we used to get essay assignments in school with the topic : Technology :Boon or Bane? I guess we know which side this one will vote for 🙂
Ha!
Nice story. When the shower curtain was whipped back, I momentarily thought “Psycho!” only to break into relieved laughter as it turned out to be granny. It was an educational story too – I had to google ‘Facetime’!
Well, How Embarrassing! I bet Mother In Law was laughing at her grand children but I hope she felt pity for her daughter-in-law. Cute story!
Right. You learn to lock the door 🙂
I think this is something that will take years before you can laugh at it… those iPads are risky things.
Really liked this … my two are older now but had no boundaries either, at times!
Thanks Kate. My little boy is five so this is a real fear 🤣
Brilliant, Jen. Funny! x
Thanks Kath x
